Monica Samanta has been associated with G3ict since September of 2007. Since joining, Ms. Samanta has been responsible for G3ict research activities and has served as the Editor of the G3ict Web site. She graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor’s Degree in May of 2007 having majored in International Relations with a concentration in Conflict and Security in Africa and the Middle East. Ms. Samanta’s interest in the Middle East stemmed from her personal experiences from when she lived abroad in Saudi Arabia from 1990-2000. Her passion in music led her to minor in Music at Emory, with a focus in vocal performance. Ms. Samanta also spent a summer interning at the Democratic Party of Georgia, focusing her work on voter targeting for the 2006 midterm elections.
