Diplomas Elusive for Many Students With Learning Disabilities
A state-by-state analysis of the most recent data on graduation rates for students with learning disabilities shows that while more of those students have been leaving high school with a standard diploma, many states are struggling to reach the national graduation rate average of 68 percent for students in that disability category.

USA: Is an Office of mHealth the Best Thing About the Bill Creating an Office of mHealth?
Version 2.0 of a plan to create an Office of mHealth in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration should be out soon. The office of U.S. Rep. Mike Honda, Silicon Valley’s Democratic Congressman who authored the legislation, said the next draft will at the least fine-tune the way the office would work with other federal agencies.

Telecommuting can be an especially valuable benefit for many professionals with disabilities because there are times when being able to work from home is necessary -- whether to accommodate a disability or because of the lack of accessible transportation.

Regal Cinemas Bringing Sony's Accessibility Technology to Nearly 6,000 Theaters
In a world where 3D (and now 4DX) is constantly trying to overwhelm your senses at theaters, it's important to remember that the basic needs of some moviegoers remain largely unmet. Over a year ago, Regal Cinemas announced plans to bring Sony Entertainment's Access System to its chain of digital theaters, and now that effort is picking up some real momentum. The Access System helps customers who may be hard of hearing, deaf, or blind. For the hearing impaired, specially designed glasses privately display closed captioned text directly in a wearer's sight for 2D as well as 3D movies. When headphones are plugged in, the system provides descriptive audio for those unable to make out what's happening on screen.
